How To Apply Eyeshadow The Right Way-67 Eyeshadow Tutorials Easy to Copy
Believe it or not, the best way to get a two-toned shadow (one light shade with a darker shade in the crease) is to apply it with your eyes open.
Follow these three steps:
1) Apply an eye primer to your eyes by closing them, as this is the only way it will work. We appreciate Smashbox 24 Hour Primer Shadow Photo Finish ($ 21) because it keeps your eye shadow intact all day long. Even though we never suggest leaving your makeup that long, a girl sometimes has to do what she has to do.
2) With one of your eyes closed and the other open (so you can see, duh), use a makeup brush to apply a light shade (such as gold, nude or pale pink) on your eyelid. Then repeat this step on the other eye.
3) To apply the darker shade (brown, beige or black) on your folds, keep your eyes open. Just brush the darker shadow in your folds and repeat with the other eye. By keeping your eyes open all the time, you can compare the shadow of your two eyes and give them an identical look each time. The shape of your eyes is much easier to follow and trace when your eyes are open. Your makeup will look more natural, I promise.
